Prime Minister directs to launch an online portal for vehicle registration

As the media reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent out directives to introduce an online portal and a mechanism for vehicles registration. The step is being taken to facilitate the public to the maximum.

According to the available details, the PM has ordered to develop an online platform and devise a mechanism for online vehicle registration at the Excise Department. Special directives have been sent to Excise office in Islamabad to follow up and also present an implementation report within 90 days.

The notification, released by the PM office, further directed the concerted parties to formulate an online system for token tax payments as well. Furthermore, it called for the introduction of online forms for online registration of cars.

All branches of National Bank of Pakistan have been asked to process fee submission of vehicle registration as per the notification.

The notification issued from the PM office also included information about the establishment of a designated counter for special persons. Soon, a comprehensive campaign will be launched to educate people about the use of these platforms.
