Patriot Act's producer shares how she was 'humiliated, gaslit and targeted' after Hasan Minhaj's show got cancelled on Netflix

It should be noted that Nasreen joined Al Jazeera's The Stream as an associate producer after graduating from Harvard University.

After two years of being on Netflix with 40 episodes, Hasan Minhaj\\’s weekly talk show, the Patriot Act, was canceled. On Tuesday, Minhaj took to Twitter to announce that the show will not return for a seventh season.

The show Patriot Act covered timely and topical political and cultural moments. It\\’s recent episodes talked about the coronavirus pandemic, George Floyd\\’s death and the ensuing protests, the upcoming election and the price of attending college. The show ran from October 2018 to June 2020 and received high praise during the time. The Patriot Act even won an Emmy and Peabody award.

However, in the case of the Patriot Act, going away seems to be the best thing Pakistani producer Nur Nasreen could have done after it was revealed that the preachers did not practice their own words.

Nur Nasreen, the woman behind the hit show\\’s best episodes, took to Twitter on Friday and shared her ordeal from her time at the show.

It should be noted that Nasreen joined Al Jazeera\\’s The Stream as an associate producer after graduating from Harvard University. She then became a part of Comedy Central\\’s The Opposition with Jordan Klepper. After the show canceled, she ended up producing the Patriot Act.
