According to the police sources, three of the two victims were reported missing from Kasur’ Chunian tehsil in the last month. The third was reported missing two days ago. One dead body was found on the indication of a local worker while the skeletal remains of two others were discovered from Chunian’s deserted place.

The horrifying, bone-chilling incident has brought Kasur back in the spotlight. Punjab’s district has remained in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. After an initial investigation, Kasur District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani said that the victims were sexually abused before being murdered.

One of the victims was aged 12 and the other was eight years old. Only remains of the two boys were found. Following the news, people staged a protest demonstration in Kasur, demanding justice for the slain. DPO Qaisrani informed local media sources, three teams had been formed to investigate the cases.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice of the murders, demanding an inquiry from the provincial police chief. Punjab Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz Khan has ordered DPO Kasur to submit a report into the incident.
