‘Providing electricity at affordable rates is topmost priority of the government’, says PM
PM expressed his thoughts while chairing a meeting in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has clarified that the government is aware of the problems being faced by the public, particularly the high cost of utilities. He said that the provision of electricity to domestic and industrial consumers at affordable rates is the topmost priority of the incumbent government.
While chairing a meeting in Islamabad, PM Khan said To introduce no need for comma here sustainable energy reforms and check line losses, the government is devising a proper road map. He added that Pakistan’s energy sector is facing challenges because of the agreements signed by the previous governments. He said those agreements neglected ‘timely administrative reforms and losses in the transmission and distribution system’.
“The government is cognizant of the problems faced by the masses and it is our utmost effort to stabilize power prices and provide every possible relief to the people,” PM Khan said.
The Prime Minister added despite the challenges, the government is trying to provide relief to the public, particularly the weaker segments of the society. The consumers using up to 300 units are being particularly facilitated by the government.
