PSL 2022: Lahore Qalandars lose Rashid Khan ahead of crucial matches
Rashid Khan won't be able to continue any further
Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars will be without one of their star performers, Rashid Khan, in the remainder of the tournament.
Besides being one of the economical bowlers in the tournament, the Afghan leg-spinner has also picked some crucial wickets.
Lahore Qalandars have already qualified for PSL play-offs. The other two teams, who qualified for the PSL play-offs stage, are Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi.
Rashid Khan will play his last match of the PSL 2022 against Islamabad United tonight. The Qalandars have already announced Khan’s replacement.
He will be replaced by Fawad Ahmed.
The Afghan leg-spinner will be unable to continue further in the tournament due to national duty. He will be representing the Afghanistan cricket team in their white-ball cricket series against Bangladesh. The two teams will play three One Day Internationals and two T20Is.
It is pertinent to mention that Rashid Khan had preferred playing in the PSL over county cricket. He had said that playing in the PSL seems a better option. “I had to decide between missing five games with the county or playing a whole tournament like PSL which seemed like a better option, especially as the fans wanted me to play in the PSL,” Rashid Khan had said.
