PSL 2022: Multiple players test positive for COVID-19
Just ahead of start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), multiple players have tested positive for Covid-19. The two players who have tested positive for coronavirus today are Peshawar Zalmi’s skipper Wahab Riaz and batter Haider Ali.
The PSL franchise will soon announce partial replacements of these players from the reserve pool of players. Yesterday, wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and pacer Arshad Iqbal tested positive for Covid-19.
They have been replaced by Opener Imam-ul-Haq and all-rounder Ammad Butt, who were part of the reserve pool of players. The former PSL champions’ four players are now under isolation.
The Peshawar Zalmi will be facing Quetta Gladiators in their first match of PSL. The two teams have given fans some nail-biting contests in the past.
Furthermore, Karachi Kings’ director and mentor Wasim Akram also tested positive for Covid-19 just after arriving from the Legends Cricket League.
