PSL 7 Mini Draft: Franchises turn focus towards South African players
These South African players will be available during the PSL mini draft.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 7 mini draft is scheduled to be held on January 9. A number of local and foreign cricketers will be up for grabs.
During the PSL 7 mini draft, a total of 367 players will go under the hammer. The list has already been sent to the franchises.
Following the cancellation of South Africa’s Mzansi Super League, a number of top Protease cricketers are expect to be part of the mini-draft. According to local media, David Miller, Quinton de Kock, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen are part of the list sent to the Pakistan Super League franchises.
Furthermore, Ben Dunk, Carlos Brathwaite, Colin Ingram, Luke Wright and David Willey might also become part of the glitzy T20 league as they are among the 367 players list. Dawn News, citing sources, also reported that a separate draft might be held for the South African players.
The Protease players were ruled out from PSL due to the Mzansi Super League clashing with Pakistan’s franchise based T20 tournament. The league was cancelled owing to the surge in Omicron variants cases.
The PSL franchises have been allowed to add two more players, a local and a foreign, to complete their 20 men squad by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The upcoming edition of PSL will commence from January 27th in Karachi.
