PTDC to be updated on modern lines to utilize Pakistan’s maximum ‘tourism potential’
The provinces will have charge of the hotels present in the ‘tourist destinations.’
To utilize Pakistan’s maximum ‘tourism potential’, the loss-making tourism institutions including Pakistan Tourism Development Cooperation (PTDC) will be revamped on modern lines.
The government has taken a very significant decision for the improvement of the ‘tourism sector’ of the country. According to the reports, the complete structure of PTDC will be amended. Moreover, the political recruitments in PTDC will be eliminated.
The provinces will have charge of the hotels present in the ‘tourist destinations.’ The offices will also be built and will re-recruited according to their needs.
National Tourism Coordination Board (NTCB)
National Tourism Coordination Board (NTCB), which was established in the year 2019, will have the management of PTDC transferred to it. PTDC is currently facing a deficit of PKR 650 million.
PDTC tweeted that cooperation is being revamped to make it a ‘world-class’ organization for tourism. The tweet also clarified that PTDC operations are ‘not closing up’.

The restructuring has been introduced after Mahmood Khan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister, announced the re-opening of the tourism sector considering the required SOP’s.
The US-based business magazine ‘Forbes categorized Pakistan among its ’10 best under-the-radar-trips’ category. It shed light on the places that provide the travelers with an escape from every day in an ‘’increasingly homogenized world’’ and also places that are ‘off the beaten path’.
