PTI Government makes big recovery | Retrieves embezzlement worth Rs. 10.8 Billion in the Hazara Motorway Project
Murad Saeed requested FIA to look into the matter of including a suspicious bridge in the Hazara motorway project.

On Monday, Murad Saeed, Minister for Communications and Postal Services, announced in that the Hazara Motorway will be operational from November 15, 2019. Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan will inaugurate the motorway at Mansehra Interchange on Friday. Due to the change in infrastructure, the opening was delayed.
While responding to PMLN’s Murtaza Javed Abbasi, the minister said that he requested the Federal Investigating Agency (FIA) to look into the matter of including a suspicious bridge in the Hazara Motorway project.
Delay and Escalation in Cost:
Changes in the design of the project were instructed by the former prime minister, which resulted in the delay and increased in the cost of the project, informed Murad Saeed.
The minister further added that the inquiry he launched to investigate the matter helped the government to recover the embezzlement worth 10.8 billion.
Murad Saeed also informed about the modifications that were made in Hakala-Dera Ismail Khan, Sukkur-Multan, and Lahore Abdul Hakeem motorway sections.
Moreover, the minister demanded the apology from those who caused a significant amount of damage to the national finances.
Changes in the design of the motorway are now completed and it will be ready for the public use in mid-November.
Hazara motorway is a fifty-nine kilometer-long E-35, which is a significant part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Initially, the project was four-lane that later on changed into six-lane. This project will help to reduce the travel time from Islamabad to Havelian to just thirty minutes.
