PTI launches Mazdoor Card Scheme in Punjab

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rolled out the ‘Mazdoor Card’ scheme. This project would serve numerous purposes such as allowing laborers to receive free medical and healthcare facilities at both public and private hospitals along with other benefits across the province.

More than 1 million laborers and their 6.8 million dependents registered for the Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) as per details. The people registered will benefit from the Mazdoor card which is also linked to the Sehat Sahulat card along with the loan schemes offered by government.

In addition to this, beneficiers would also be allowed to use this Mazdoor card as a debit card. Bank accounts have been set up for the registered laborers but details regarding the debit-based use have not been revealed yet.

Other than this, laborers would also get discounts on products from around 130 companies including subsidies on stores, private schools and railway.
