PTI MPA faces action after her calls discussing PM, his wife, others get leaked

The recordings have landed her in hot waters.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s MPA, Uzma Kardar, last made the headlines when Reham Khan’s infamous book mentioned her name. Once again, the spotlight is on her, as she was recently removed from an information body of the Punjab government. The reason of Uzma’s dismissal was a series of leaked phone calls.

In these phone calls, Uzma Kardar is allegedly heard discussing many notable figures: Prime Miniter (PM) Imran Khan, First Lady Bushra Bibi, Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar.

The notification of Kardar’s removal from the Provincial Government’s Media Strategy Committee was issued hours after the phone calls were disclosed on Monday. The Punjab Information Minister Fayazul Hasan Chohan issued the notification which mentioned no reason regarding Uzma’s dismissal.

However, journalist Mansoor Ali Khan tweeted that a call recording of someone from the present government would soon surface and embarrass the PTI government.

Soon after the tweet, the audio clips of the phone calls went viral, and people put two and two together.

Uzma Kardar was clearly heard discussing PM Imran Khan and First Lady in one recording:

Using the words “dirty politics” quite often to describe the inside workings of the PTI, Kardar went on to make outrageous claims about Khattak, Buzdar, and Punjab Child Protection Bureau’s Chairperson Sarah Ahmad, Punjab Information Minister Fayazul Hasan Chohan. In another leaked phone call, she even discussed PTI’s ally Pakistan Muslim League (PML).

Uzma Kardar has not yet commented on the matter.

While the audios doing rounds on the internet draw mixed reactions, questions as to ‘who recorded and leaked the phone calls’ and ‘why’ remain unanswered.

Among many others, Journalist Mansoor is also left curious.

Meanwhile, reports have been released claiming that necessary impeachment action will soon be taken against Uzma Kardar.
