Public and political figures praise Imran Khan for highlighting Kashmir issue in an interview with Germany’s DW News

The former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan was recently invited by a German broadcaster, DW News, for an interview. During the interview with DW’s anchorperson Richard Walker, Imran Khan highlighted the human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The host interrupted the ex-PM several times; however, Imran Khan continued to highlight the Kashmir dispute and the West’s double standards on it. He remarked:

What about Kashmir… India has usurped the rights of Kashmiris… Kashmir is a disputed territory between Pakistan and India. I first want to move on and talk about Kashmir… this issue involves us and matters to us… what about other people not worrying about our human rights. Why we are supposed to condemn the European issues… don’t put us in a position where we have to take sides… allow us the luxury to stay neutral.

The former premier also refused to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine, saying

Islamabad’s future is tied with Moscow in terms of gas, oil, and wheat import.

He further reiterated:

I am anti-war and do not support military action to solve any dispute.
