Punjab announces recruitment of principals for 100 government colleges

Punjab’s Higher Education Department (HED) has decided to hire 100 principals for the vacant posts. This decision is made for colleges that don’t have a full-time principal.

Details have revealed that the list includes five colleges in Lahore. The list of colleges that are functioning without a full-time principal includes GC College at Ravi Road, Queen Mary College, GC Model Town, and Government College (GC) Township.

The responsibility and duties in these colleges are done on an ad hoc basis by a professor or anyone in-charge, which has caused multiple administrative issues.

HED has emphasized the need to fill these posts as early as possible. Numerous individuals have applied for the position and the shortlisting of the applicants is under process. The selected applicants will be interviewed next week. The spokesperson for the department has also revealed that a very significant announcement will be made soon.

Punjab government announces regularisation of 14,000 teachers

Earlier this month, the government announced the regularisation of thousands of teachers.

Punjab’s Education Minister, Dr. Murad Raas, took to Twitter to share the news. In a Tweet, he wrote that the file for the regularisation of thousands of teachers, in the public sector institutions, has been initiated, signed, and moved forward. He further said that the Punjab government has kept up with its promise to the teachers, ‘Promises made – Promises delivered,’ he added.

The incumbent provincial government had decided to regularize thousands of teachers during its last tenure. However, after the government’s ouster earlier this year, the promise wasn’t fulfilled.
