Punjab government bans cellphones and junk food in private schools
According to details, the School Education Department (SED) has prohibitted the use of smartphones with in the premises of private schools.
The Punjab government has banned certain items like mobile phones, consumption of junk food and energy drinks with in schools.
According to details, the School Education Department (SED) has prohibitted the use of smartphones with in the premises of private schools of Punjab. In addition to this, eating junk food and consuming energy drinks has also been restricted.
The SED has instructed private schools of the province to strictly comply with the directives. It has also been stated that strict action would be taken in case of non-compliance by the schools.
The department has also made monitoring teams. The teams have been given the task to pay surprise and uninformed visits to the schools to check if they are complying with the orders or not.
The development comes after a video from Lahore’s private school went viral on social media recently. In the clip, a student was seen getting brutally tortured by her school fellows. The video sparked outrage with people demanding the authorities to take action against the students involved.
The four female students that were involved had been booked by the authorities. However, they were granted pre-arrest bail from the Lahore High Court (LHC).
