Punjab Government To Set Up E-libraries To Promote Reading And Research Among Citizens

To promote reading and trend of research, Punjab government has initiated opening of State Of Art E-libraries in different cities across the province. These libraries are basically designed to attract more readers and making provision of data hassle-free. Even for more detailed and in-depth research, the libraries will provide access intricate material without any licensing restrictions, associated costs and free of copyright.
Upon Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif’s orders, Information Technology Board Punjab will be set up e-libraries in 20 districts. According to CM, the libraries will be run under ‘fabulous’ administration model that will follow an organized structure.

Operating on the phenomenon of ‘committing open access for everyone’, these libraries are built with modern infrastructural detailing and caters to all the fragments of the society. With authentic 3000 books and over 10,000 e-books, magazines and publications. To further motivate people to read and understand the significance, short courses will also be conducted for better guidance. Not just that, each e-library has separate auditoriums for combined creative activities, that can accommodate up to 50 people.
