Here’s How Punjab Highway Patrol Is Aiming To Decrease Incidents Caused By Fog
The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) presided at a meeting to see to concerns surrounding the growth of accidents caused by fog.
The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), Dr. Abid Khan, along with other members of PHP came together to discuss the issue of fog-related incidents at a meeting.
Several measures such as the deployment of force and installation of foglights, reflectors and soft barriers to check accidents were considered.
Matters regarding the security and safety of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway were also brought up. The attendees discussed the dedication of recovery vehicles, ambulances, fiber cabins, and road furniture to the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway to tackle increased incidents.
It was also decided by DIG PHP that the patrolling beat officer will have to notify their designated district officer in case of deteriorated visibility. In addition, it was directed that the officer will have to keep in contact with concerned departments while certifying the performance of the task.
In the case of poor visibility, the PHP is also permitted to discontinue the usage of the motorway by drivers.
