QS Ranking names Pakistan’s NUST among World’s Top 300 universities
According to 2020 rankings, NUST is among the world’s top 200 universities in the subject of Computer Science & Information (CS&IS).
National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has been ranked among top 300 universities in Engineering and Technology, as per Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Subject Rankings 2020. Other than this, the prestigious university retained its No. 1 position in Pakistan in Engineering and Technology as well.
This is the first time NUST has been ranked in two other disciplines, including Natural Sciences and Social Sciences & Management. It has now become the only Pakistani university to have been ranked in 3 out of 5 disciplines of QS Subject Rankings.
According to 2020 rankings, NUST is among the world’s top 200 universities in the subject of Computer Science & Information (CS&IS). It also featured in seven other subjects, Electrical Electronics Engineering, Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering, Physics & Astronomy and Chemical engineering. This is NUST’s first-ever appearance in the subject of Chemical Engineering and is ranked No. 1 in the subject.
It also made an inaugural entry in ranking for Chemistry. It merits special mention that Chemical Engineering and Social Sciences & Management as subjects and Natural Sciences are relatively new areas at NUST.
NUST’s School of Natural Sciences (SNS) and School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H) are new schools, and they are at the top in Pakistan in fairly less time. The university maintained its No. 1 position in Pakistan in CS&Is, Electrical & Electronic Engineering. In Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering for the past 3 years in a row.
