A scholarship program has been announced for Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) students. The program targets students hailing from flood-hit areas and is introduced by Quaid-e-Azam University Alumni Association (QAUAA).
President QAUAA, Dr. Abdul Basit revealed details about the scholarship during a meeting that was held in Islamabad. The meeting was arranged with the purpose of assessing the situation after the destructive floods.
According to the details, this scholarship program by QAU was introduced to ensure that the students studying at the university continue their education without worrying about their fees and finances. The program offers complete coverage of tuition fees, hostel charges, and mess fees for QAU students who belong to flood-hit regions.
The areas that have been badly impacted by the floods include Balochistan, South Punjab, Sindh, and upper KP. Numerous students currently enrolled in Quaid-e-Azam University belong from these regions and have suffered massive losses.
Dr. Abdul Basit further assured complete support to the QAU students who have lost a lot due to the flash floods that have caused 1/3rd of Pakistan to submerge in water. Moreover, 15% of the country’s total population has also been displaced.
President QAUAA further mentioned that such programs were also offered by the university to facilitate students during the 2010 floods. It was a major success and thousands of students benefited from the scholarship.
