Rawalpindi Police Registers Case Against a 4-Year-Old, Presents Him in Court

Rawalpindi police, upon a complaint, registered a case against a 4-year old for allegedly “attacking a couple with bricks and stones”, a local English newspaper reported.

A man named Ghulam Mustafa filed a complaint against the kid, Ahmed, with the Naseerabad police station. Following his complaint, the Rawalpindi police station registered a case under the provisions of 337/A3.

The First Information Report (FIR) revealed that the young child attacked a couple with bricks and stones. In a video, the kid can be seen in the court premises, carried by a young man and a lawyer.

The 4-year-old was presented for bail in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Sohail Anjum. Ahmed’s lawyer told  the media that the case against his client was “blindly registered” by the police.

“The sentence imposed on 4-year-old Ahmed is 10 years imprisonment.” The lawyer demanded strict action against the Rawalpindi SHO Naseerabad police station and the investigating officer for registering the case.
