Refuting all the propaganda, Chinese Ambassador says he is ‘satisfied with the pace of CPEC’

- Chinese Ambassador says we are focusing on three key areas in the next phase of CPEC i.e. economy, agriculture and social development.
On Sunday, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing states the foundation of CPEC is solid and there is no slowdown and soon entering into a new stage. He was addressing the seminar “Friends of Silk Road” organized by Pakistan-China Institute
The guest of honor of the seminar was Federal Minister for Planning Development and Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar. The seminar was attended by the distinguished gathering that includes students, scholars, intellectuals, parliamentarians, business leaders, and representatives of Chinese companies.
Presentations were made by Hassan Daud, Chief Executive Officer, Board of Investment KPK, Ms. Farheena Mazhar, Executive Director General, Board of Investment, Lv Yan, Deputy General Manager China Road and Bridge Construction Company (CRBC), Masood Khalid, former ambassador to China and a girl student from Faqeer School, Gwadar also gave presentation on China’s support for girls education in Gwadar.
Key Areas of 2 Phase
In this next phase of CPEC, we are focusing on working together with the government of Pakistan and three key areas are established says the Chinese Ambassador.
These areas include:
Social development sectors
The economic zone will focus on Rashakai and will be given to the private sector. With a focus on fisheries, the agriculture sector will start working from October in Islamabad and Lahore. Last but not the least grant of $1 billion has been given to 27 projects under social development sectors.
The Chinese ambassador emphasized that “CPEC is running according to our satisfaction and there is no slowdown in CPEC”.
Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar announces, “CPEC is also above any political divide and there is a national consensus on CPEC and eventually 80% of electricity will be generated by CPEC energy projects”.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed in his opening speech CPEC is a success because of the strong ties and unshakeable relationship between Pakistan and China. He further states that CPEC has given hope and confidence to the people of Pakistan.
He further added 70,000 job opportunities including 20,000 new scholarships will be provided in the next 3 years.
In the end, Mushahid Hussain thanked China for supporting Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir in the United Nations.
