Reports state that Rs. 250 million has been set aside for top position holders at all provinces' educational levels
The Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar, recently announced Rs. 500 million worth scholarships under the ‘Rahmat-ul-Alameen’ scholarship scheme.
Reports state that Rs. 250 million has been set aside for top position holders at all provinces’ educational levels. In contrast, another Rs. 250 million has been allocated for matric students who do not possess the means to continue their education.
The news was revealed in a Seerat conference organized under the Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH) week. The week was being observed after the publication of blasphemous cartoons in a weekly French magazine, Charlie Hebdo, and subsequent Islamophobic remarks given by French President Emmanuel Macron.
The CM Punjab addressed the Seerat conference and said:
The reverence with Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is part of all Muslims’ faith around the world, adding that disrespecting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on the pretext of freedom of expression will not be tolerated.
He continued to state:
I condemn the publication of blasphemous cartoons in France and call on the United Nations to end activities around the world, which involve disrespecting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and all other Prophets.
