‘Rise above political differences’, Dr. Sania Nishtar rubbishes rumors about Nafisa Shah befitting from BISP
The social media rumors said that PPP's leader Nafisa Shah was also among the beneficiaries of BISP.
The government of Pakistan has revealed that officers from grade 17 to 21 were registered among the beneficiaries of the Benazir Support Program (BISP).
The Communications Minister, Murad Saeed, informed the National Assembly that after a detailed meeting of the federal cabinet, suspicious BISP profiles were removed. “In Sindh, even government officers working in grades 17, 18, 19, and 20 were enrolled in the income support program,” he said.
According to government officials, 2,543 officers have been expelled from the BISP program. Officials from Baluchistan and Sindh were among the beneficiaries who received the highest amount from the program.
The social media rumors also named top PPP leader Nafisa Shah among BISP beneficiaries. However, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and BISP chairperson Dr. Sania Nishtar has rebutted it. Nishtar said that one should always rise above political differences to speak the truth.
I can confirm @ShahNafisa is not in the list of people who have benefited from @bisp_pakistan We should all rise above political differences to speak the truth; support reform and anti-corruption efforts in the interest of Pakistan and its most disadvantaged poor people
