Are the rumors of discontinuation of Suzuki Ciaz in Pakistan true?

The rumors that Suzuki doesn’t intend to launch Ciaz in Pakistan began to circulate earlier this year. The news seems legit this time around.

Various reports have stated that Pak Suzuki is set to discontinue Suzuki Ciaz in Pakistan, and it has caused a social media outburst.

Despite the rumor still lacking any official confirmation or a statement from the company, several sources have verified the news that it’s the end of the car. Furthermore, the sources state that Suzuki dealers in Pakistan haven’t received any new model units, nor have they assigned any allowance to any dealership.

The rumors that Suzuki doesn’t intend to launch Ciaz in Pakistan began to circulate earlier this year. The news seems legit this time around.

Pakistan’s leading auto-blog Pakwheels, when talking to various sources, stated that the car is unavailable in the market for the past few months. The company official has also said that there isn’t any official directive from the boards, so the news remains far from confirmation

However, analyzing the local market’s current situation, Suzuki Ciaz is not available in the company’s fleet.  Interestingly, Suzuki has failed to introduce a successful Sedan model car in the past two decades. The last Sedan introduced by Suzuki, which became a hit in Pakistan, was Margalla back in the 1990s.

Possible Reasons:

This year, the car’s discontinuation was believed to be because of the Covid-19 lockdown and the ban imposed on imported cars. Moreover, the car was low on the priority advertisement list of Suzuki. The company never really pushed for it to become a hit, and it was one of the operational reasons why the CBU sedan had close to zero presence on the roads.

Another notable feature of the entire situation is that Pak Suzuki has neither provided the sales data or production to PAMA of Ciaz since it’s unveiling.

Key Features:

The price and key features of the Suzuki Sedan are excellent and affordable. However, the company couldn’t turn it into a success in Pakistan.

Power Sequence of Suzuki Ciaz:

Ciaz was equipped with a 1400cc advanced engine capable of producing up to g 91 bhp at 6000 RPM and 130 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM.  The Sedan was manufactured with both Automatic and manual transmission with high-tech technology fuel efficient K- Series engine that was powerful and provided the best fuel efficiency.

Safety Features:

When it comes to the safety features, Ciaz quickly stood out from its competitors. The vehicle had all the sought after modern features such as SRS airbags, keyless entry, and ABS brakes with EBD.

The car was valued around Rs. 2,300,000 to 2,500,000, which was a reasonable price considering its features.

Suzuki Ciaz was an effort by Suzuki to revolutionize the view in the Pakistan market. It was undoubtedly an exceptional addition to the Suzuki household but failed to develop into a sales attraction.
