Angelina Jolie’s ‘lookalike’ Sahar Tabar contracts Coronavirus in prison
She was arrested for inciting violence, earning money through inappropriate means, blasphemy and motivating the youth to corruption.
The social media star Fatemah Khishvand, also known as Sahar Tabar, has contracted the novel coronavirus in prison. Tabar made the headlines after pictures of her altered face surfaced the internet. She underwent numerous surgeries to look like Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, leaving her face disfigured.
Her lawyer Payam Derafshan told the Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) that Tabar is currently on a ventilator at the Sina Hospital in Tehran. She was infected at the Shahr-e-Rey prison and is now in the quarantine section of it.
The lawyer said it is unacceptable that Tabar has caught the virus in these circumstances, while her detention order in the jail has increased. Although the director of the prison Mehdi Mohammadi denies this news, Derafshan says that it is a habit of the authorities to deny the facts.
‘’The director should acknowledge the virus and admit she has been hospitalized’’, he said.
He went on to say that he had appealed to the judge Mohammad Moghiseh to release Tabar from prison, but the judge is ‘unreachable’ and couldn’t be found at court.
The star was arrested by Iranian authorities on the orders of Tehran’s guidance court, which deals with cultural crimes and social and moral corruption. She was arrested for inciting violence, earning money through inappropriate means, blasphemy and motivating the youth to corruption.
