Sarfaraz Ahmed calls out female journalist for her comments after Pakistan’s loss to India
Rasheed was not satisfied with Pakistan's performance after the team lost to their rivals in the match.
Former Pakistan captain, has Sarfaraz Ahmed expressed his anger over female cricket journalist, Aalia Rasheed’s comments. Aalia did an analysis of Pakistan’s five-wicket loss to India in Asia Cup this year.
Rasheed was not satisfied with Pakistan’s performance after the team lost to their rivals in the match. She explained her point of view and said that Pakistan’s batting performance and fielding were ‘poor.’
The journalist also gave an in-depth analysis of the match. She stated that if Fakhar had grabbed the catch of Kohli in the first over of the innings, the team would have easily won. She further mentioned that the Pakistani team’s weakness against short bowling was well-targeted by the Indian team. They exploited it and the batters capitulated in stress.
These comments seemed to have triggered Sarfaraz. He lashed out at the senior journalist and immediately defended the Men in Green. In a Tweet, he encouraged the players in green not to be disheartened. According to Sarfaraz, they played exceptionally well. However, the only reason they lost was because of their slow overrate which ended with a total of 5 fielders inside the circle after the 17th over. He also appreciated the team’s fighting spirit and motivated the players to keep their heads up.
Pak had the disadvantage after 17th over 5 fielders were inside the circle cuz of slow over rate & 1 of the so called female journalist on national Tv bashing Pakistan team after a fighting match & saying na run karte hai na catch pakarte hai kamal hai bhi🤷♂️ #headsUpBoys 🇵🇰

He proceeded to call out the journalist for her comments, ‘One of the senior journalists on national Tv was bashing the Pakistan team after a fighting match.’
Previously in an interaction with a media outlet, Sarfaraz had said that he believes the Pakistani team will have an ‘upper hand against India.’ He stated that the team understands the conditions in UAE better than the opponent team.
The former captain was also very hopeful because Pakistan had defeated India at the very same venue.
