A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger plane flying from Lahore crashed into the densely populated residential area of Karachi yesterday, killing 97 people.

The pilots of flight PK8303, an Airbus A320 carrying 91 passengers and eight crew, were attempting to land at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

Around half a dozen houses in Jinnah Bagh (Model Colony) were totally demolished, and the upper storeys of most homes were severely damaged.
