Shadab Khan Responds to His Comparison With Steve Smith

Islamabad United’s captain, Shadab Khan, has termed his comparison with the Aussie’s batting genius, Steve Smith, as unfair.

Following his impressive performances with the bat for his side during the ongoing Pakistan Super League. Many people compared Shadab Khan to Steve Smith, who has transformed himself from being a leg-spinner to the Number one batsman in the world.

Talking to media after conceding a defeat at the hands of Karachi Kings, Shadab Khan said, “Always wanted to prove myself as an all-rounder but it is unfair to compare me with Steve Smith because he is a legendary cricketer.”

He added that being a bowling all-rounder he tries to perform well at whichever position he is sent on.

The Islamabad United captain scored 263 runs at an average of 37.6 and strike rate of 159.4 in eight innings of HBL PSL 5 before being knocked out from the tournament.

We have twice won the tournament but unfortunately could not perform well this year,” he said.

Shadab Khan also vowed to make a strong comeback next year.

  • If he could become even 25 % of Steve Smith, it will be a blessing for Pakistan. PSL is no proof of anything as there are no international bowlers here. Shadab needs to improve his bowling which has obviously gone south in the recent couple of years.

    • Pakistani bowlers are best of the world.
      They have no comparison.
Every international player appreciate the pakistan’s bowling standard
