‘Shaheen Afridi & Mohammad Amir blew them away’: Nasser Hussain advises India to learn to play left-arm pacers
Cricketer turned commentator Nasser Hussain has advised the Indian batter to work on their weaknesses against the left-arm fast bowlers. He lauded the Pakistan’s pace attack of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Amir.
The Indian cricket team won their first ODI series in England since 2014-15. They beat the hosts by five wickets. Speaking to media after India’s victory, Nasser Hussain advised Indian batters to learn from what happened in the past, especially in T20 World Cup in the UAE.
He added that the Indian batters shouldn’t be timid. “When you have Pandya and Pant in the middle order and then Jadeja that rope to follow, you don’t need to be timid at the top,” he said.
Nasser Hussain recalled how the Indian cricketers struggled against the Pakistani pacers in the past. “History tells you that Shaheen Shah Afridi blew them away one evening in Dubai, Mohammad Amir blew them away one afternoon at the Oval in a final, and Reece Topley has blown them away here [at Old Trafford].”
Pakistan and India to meet at the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup
The cricket world is eagerly awaiting the upcoming battles between the two arch rivals. Before the two cricketing giants lock horns at the T20 World Cup in front of a jam packed Melbourne Cricket Ground, we will see them in action in the Asia Cup next month.
