Shahid Afridi opens up about joining politics and PM Imran Khan’s performance

Shahid Afridi with Imran Khan

Former Pakistan cricket team’s captain Shahid Khan Afridi believes PM Imran Khan’s commitments to people before the election were a little too much. The brand ambassador of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) was speaking to the reporters in an event hosted by the Pakistan High Commission in London.

According to Shahid Afridi, the PM should have come with a proper homework and with a sincere team. He held government’s representatives responsible for not projecting the work the incumbent government has done.

The former all-rounder lauded government’s initiative of Sehat card as well its commitment to build dams. He further stated that a single man can’t run the entire country.

Replying to a question about when he will join politics, the former captain said that he only knows the politics of helping others, which he has been doing for the last 8 years. Furthermore, he added that he doesn’t want people to say that he took a U-turn, which is why he won’t say no to the question of joining politics.

Shahid Afridi advised PM Imran Khan to work with the opposition for the betterment of the country. He went on to add that things would have been a lot better if both the opposition and the government had worked together.
