Shahid Afridi under fire after congratulating Shehbaz Sharif

Former Pakistan cricket team‘s skipper and legendary cricketer Shahid Afridi is under fire after he congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The former captain took to his Twitter account to congratulate the new PM-elect. He hoped that Shehbaz Sharif will take Pakistan out of the financial and political crisis using his brilliant administrative skills.

Following his tweets, the supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf started bashing him. Digital Media Focal Person to CM Punjab, Azhar Mashwani, replied that he should have maintained the same values when he was dropped from the national team.

A social media user claimed that the former cricketer is trying his luck in PML N after being rejected by PTI. It is pertinent to mention that Shahif Afridi was reported to be joining politics. However, he denied all these reports.

Journalist Qadir Khawaja wrote that he is with Shahid Afridi. He added that those who speak in their [PTI] favour, they are patriots and those who don’t are labelled as traitors.
