Shehla Raza To Travel To Thailand With Pakistan Women’s Hockey Team As Manager

A Pakistani contingent travelling for global events such as the Olympics or Commonwealth Games is hardly without any controversy.

As Pakistan’s women hockey team prepares to fly for the Indoor Women’s Asia Cup 2022, a controversy has emerged before their departure.

According to a report, Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Provincial Minister For Women Development – Sindh, Shehla Raza, will be travelling with the team as  manager. The report claimed that the people close to her have been hired at top positions as she enjoys deep connections within the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).

It should be noted that the Pakistan hockey players trained for five days without hockey sticks ahead of the Indoor Women’s Asia Cup before Shehla Raza arranged it for them. She met with the players and provided them hockey sticks.

The event will kick off from August 8 to 15 in Thailand. Shockingly, Pakistan women team hasn’t even participated in a local indoor match before this tournament, which speaks volumes of the incompetence of PHF.
