Sheikh Rashid announces 50% off on all trains on Eid day
Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid has announced a 50 per cent discount on all trains across the country to facilitate the passengers.
In a welcomed move, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid has announced a flat 50 per cent discount on all trains across the country to make the eid day more special. The decision has been taken keeping in view the passengers’ ease and to relax them financially so add a little to the upcoming Eid.
The Minister called it a special ‘Eid gift’ for those, particularly who will be travelling on the Eid day. A number of other steps have been taken to improve the experience as well.
“This a special gift for passengers on Eid day and I also thank the travellers who will use Pakistan Railways for travelling”- the Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid said in a statement issued.
The spokesman of Pakistan Railways further added that Pakistan Railways will also run five special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr across the country. It will facilitate the passengers and they can have a hassle-free experience, enjoying the festival to the fullest with their loved ones.

He added that on the directives of Minister for Railways, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Muhammad Aftab Akbar has already issued a notification and schedule of the trains.
As per the announced schedule, the first Eid train would run from Karachi on June 2 at 10:45 am for Peshawar and the second train will leave from Quetta on the same day at 11:30 am for Rawalpindi.
The spokesman added that the third train would depart from Karachi Cantonment on June 3 at 11:30 am for Lahore. The fourth special train would leave from Rawalpindi on June 8 at 8 am for Quetta.
“A comprehensive advertisement campaign of Pakistan Railways has been launched to keep passengers informed about the special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr” – he said.
He informed that the last Eid special train will go from Lahore Railway Station for Karachi Cantonment at 6 pm on 8th June. The online booking facility for eid special trains will start on May 29.
