The Chinese brand took to social media and posted an apology note, stating:

We offer our sincerest apology to all those we have hurt and offended and hope we can earn your forgiveness.

After being labeled religiously insensitive, the online Chinese retailer instantly removed the decorative rug collection from its website and stopped selling it to its audience. Shein directed other retailers to do the same too. Learning from their mistake, the Chinese brand took steps to ensure that history does not repeat itself:

We have also formed a product review committee with staff from different cultures and religions, so a mistake like this does not happen again.
