Shoaib Akhtar clarifies whether Sachin Tendulkar was scared of him
During an interview with an Indian news channel, Shoaib Akhtar was asked about his comments regarding Sachin Tendulkar.
Shoaib Akhtar has finally clarified his comments regarding Sachin Tendulkar in his book. The former Pakistani cricketer had reportedly said that the legendary batsman was scared of him.
During an interview with an Indian news channel, Shoaib Akhtar was asked about his comments regarding Sachin Tendulkar. The world’s fastest bowler said that it was just media hype and he hadn’t written anything like this.
“It was an India channel which reported that Sachin was scared of me. I had written that in Faisalabad, he had discomfort in his tennis elbow which made him unable to play hook and pull shot,” Akhtar said.
Shoaib Akhtar added that all he said was that he would bowl bouncers at him, making him scared as he was already suffering from discomfort in his tennis elbow. Furthermore, the former fast bowler also revealed that Sachin Tendulkar invited him for dinner at his house, where he clarified what he had written about him.

“Sachin Tendulkar said leave all this. Tell me, do you have any idea where did your ball hit me in Guwahati? I didn’t tell anyone, it had fractured my rib but I still played against you,” Shoaib Akhtar narrated his dinner table conversation with Sachin.
Moreover, Shoaib Akhtar also said that the Indian cricketer would have scored 1 lakh runs if he played against today’s bowlers. The 46 year old also named Rohit Sharma as his favourite India cricketer at the moment. Akhtar called him the Inzimam-ul-haq of India.
