According to media reports, the former speedster Shoaib Akhtar has warned Pakistan captain Babar against becoming ‘Sarfaraz part two’. Akhtar advised Babar to exercise his authority in team selection for the upcoming Africa tour.
While speaking to PTV Sports, Akhtar said:
We are hearing that Babar Azam is calling [Pakistan Cricket Board] and saying that his suggestions have been ignored regarding squad selection. If Babar Azam is so hurt and wants to become a brand, he should resign right now and send a message that this can’t happen again. If he doesn’t do this, then he will become Sarfaraz part two.
It should be noted that Akhtar had previously criticized former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed during his captaincy tenure. Akhtar condemned Sarfaraz’s decisions for letting ex-head coach Mickey Arthur dominate in selections.
