Sikh community stands with Indian Muslims against CAB
The Citizen Amendment Bill is labeled as ‘fundamentally discriminatory in nature’ by the United Nations.
The Citizenship Amendment Bill, also known as CAB, was passed a few days ago in India, which has left the country in shock and people hailing from different backgrounds are currently protesting across the country.
They’ve killed various protestors, police have shot many people down, the internet services have been blocked, but regardless of all this, the opposition is still growing.
A gathering of four and more people is prevented by Draconian laws, and sadly, similar code is now being used in order to shut down protestors in India. A large number of demonstrators have been caught as criminals in the act. It goes without saying that what’s happening in India is clearly an abuse of power, and it attacks the liberty of free speech which is the fundamental right of every citizen.
“Denying permission for peaceful protests shows an apparent disdain for the right to freedom of expression,” Amnesty International mentioned.

From 2014 till now, Modi and his party, despite having their government in India have turned a blind eye, and as a result, the killings and bullying of the minorities have increased dramatically. Modi, as well as his party, are only standing by the Hindu community, putting all others at stake.
