Sikh youth shot dead on his visit to Peshawar for his wedding preparations
His brother asks for speedy investigation, says they did not have any enmity with anyone.
The dead body of a Sikh youth was found in Peshawar on Sunday. The police have collected the evidence and initiated an investigation into the murder. Peshawar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sajjid Khan told the media that Parvender Singh was shot dead on his visit to Peshawar.
Pavender was a resident of Chakesar Shangla and was visiting Pakistan to complete last-minute preparations for his wedding. The incident occurred within Chamkani police station limits.
According to the FIR, he was working in Malaysia for the last six years and was in Pakistan for gold shopping. His wedding was planned in February.
“However, close to midnight on Saturday, the victim’s brother, received a call from his [Parvender’s] phone where an unidentified man told him that he had killed Parvender and where they could find his body,” the police official told.
“The body was later recovered from a stormwater drain on Sunday. The victim had sustained one bullet injury to the head.”
The dead body will be handed over to the family after autopsy. Brother of the victim, Harmeet Singh, urged the media and social media communities to raise voice for his brother. He urged the police to conduct a speedy investigation and not let the issue die down just like other crimes.
”This will also be included among those conducted by na maloom afraad”, Harmeet said.
