Slap on the face: India Today invited famous Israeli author to praise Modi, but it backfired

During the interview, Harari raised concerns over the Hindu population blaming the COVID-19 epidemic as a “deliberate act of terrorism” by the Muslim community.

A video of India Today journalist, Rahul Kanwal, interviewing a famous Israeli best-selling author and historian, Yuval Noah Harari, went viral on social media.

During the interview, Harari raised concerns over the Hindu population blaming the COVID-19 epidemic as a “deliberate act of terrorism” by the Muslim community.

We do not need more hatred

The Israeli author said, “I was very concerned about some stories I heard  that the Hindu community of India is blaming the pandemic on the Muslim minorities. Some are even saying that it is a deliberate act of terrorism. This is complete nonsense and extremely dangerous; we do not need more hatred, we need solidarity, we need love between people.”

Emphasizing the utmost need for  social harmony, Harari said, “I hope that Indians could connect to their best religious and communal tradition, and develop the solidarity and benevolence in this crisis to overcome the inner demons of resentment and greed”.

Social media users trolled the Indian journalist after the video went viral.
