Social media reacts: Maryam Nawaz shares ‘soul-stirring’ poetry dedicated to herself

Maryam Nawaz has been named among the 16 vice presidents of the party.

On Friday, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), following a major reshuffle of the party, instated Maryam Safdar Nawaz as vice president of the party. Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been appointed a senior vice president.

The internal reorganisation in the party came as an aftermath party’s submission of two important parliamentary positions as party president Shahbaz Sharif prolongs his stay in London.

According to a statement issued by PML-N, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been appointed the senior vice president of the party. Ahsan Iqbal has been appointed as the general secretary.

Following the party reshuffle, Marriyum Aurangzeb is retained as secretary information and will also continue to hold the position of party’s spokesperson. The former finance minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar will serve the party by performing responsibilities as president of the party’s International Affairs Committee.

PML-N’s president Shahbaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ishaq Dar will also be the part of PML-N Economic Advisory Council.

The other senior members given the position of vice presidents include Abid Sher Ali, Ayaz Sadiq, Chaudhry Barjees Tahir, Dr Darshan Lal Punchi, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Khurram Dastgir, Mian Javed Latif, Muhammad Zubair, Mushahid Ullah Khan, Nelson Azeem, Pervaiz Rasheed, Raheela Durrani, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan.

As part of the restructuring, Maryam Nawaz has been named among the 16 vice presidents of the party. On the occasion, she was greeted by an admirer with a special dedication to her.

She retweeted it, captioning it ‘’Made me emotional! Soul-stirring!’’. People hit her post with mixed reactions. While some congratulated her for it, others were not too happy with it.
