Sohail Warraich claims that Misbah was made chief selector on Maulana Tariq Jamil’s recommendation
Journalist Sohail Warraich said that the role of both chief selector and the head coach was given to Misbahul Haq on the recommendation of Maulana Tariq Jamil.
In his recent column, the journalist claimed that no one in this country knows cricket better than Prime Minister Imran Khan and that every change in Pakistan cricket is occurring on his order.
Sohail called Maulana Tariq Jamil among one of Pakistan’s most loved personalities and refusing his orders is considered a grave sin, therefore PM Imran, while honoring his love with Maulana Tariq, “gave these responsibilities to Misbah”.
Warraich also claimed that on Imran Khan’s order, batsman Babar Azam was made the captain of the cricket team.
Sohail said, “Khan appointed Misbah as a coach and chief selector and Babaq Azam as team’s captain, but he [Imran] shouldn’t be held responsible for their poor performance.”
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senator Faisal Javed said that PM Imran Khan will now focus on upgrading sports, especially cricket.
Faisal Javed also said, “The premier could not concentrate on cricket earlier as he was focused on stabilizing the economy and strengthening the institutions, which were in shambles.”
