Special one of a kind ‘all-women market’ to be set up in Islamabad

The decision to set up a unique market for women was made in June

The Federal Minister for Interior, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, has announced that a special market for women will be set up in Islamabad by the 30th of October.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmad made the announcement while addressing the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) 12th Annual General meeting 2021-22 on Wednesday.

Addressing the ceremony, the Minister asked women to come forward and play their role in all fields of life. He said that it was necessary to involve women in the overall development of the country.

Sheikh Rashid further went on to say, “There are two women universities in Rawalpindi, and a third one would be established soon.”

Earlier, the Founder and President of IWCCI Samina Fazil, highly praised the Minister for his efforts to empower women. The Interior Minister also took the oath of the newly elected executive members of IWCCI and presented shields to the participants.

The decision to set up a unique market for women was made in June after the Interior Minister met a delegation from the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) and acknowledged the need to include women in economic activities.
