Around one-third of Pakistan is submerged in water due to the flash floods that have been a result of climate change. The melting glaciers and torrential rains have caused a lot of destruction in parts of Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab.

Public figures and celebrities from around the world have used their platform to raise awareness on the topic and generate funds for the affectees. Stars like Kumail Nanjiani and Jameela Jamil are also using their influence.

The Good Place actress tweeted, questioning why the news of one-third of Pakistan being underwater is not all over the media. ‘More water is coming. 50 million people already displaced,’ she added.

She also emphasized how this is just the start of major devastation. The actress urged Twitter users to drop links to organizations so people would know where to donate to.

The She-Hulk actress retweeted Disasters Emergency Committee’s post. DEC is a group of 15 UK charities that are raising donations for the flooding in the country. She asked people to donate to this organization.

Kumail used his Twitter account to talk about the humanitarian crisis. Nanjiani reposted a tweet by the platform GoFundMe. This platform is crowdfunding and connects people to numerous flood relief fundraisers.

In the caption to the post, he said that he has played his part by donating. He requested everyone to do the same.

He also shared Qasim Rashid, who is a human rights lawyer. Rashid appreciated all those who were donating in the tweet. He further mentioned a link to a charity where one can donate for the purpose.
