Sindh government to establish Center of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain

The provincial government of Sindh plans to set up a Center of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain at IBA Sukkur. The provincial government has also allocated an amount of Rs. 3.0 billion in its budget for FY 2019-20 for the said project.

The Sindh government has re-aligned their priorities and has shown a considerable amount of interest towards investing in province’s much-criticized education sector. As part of it, certain optimistic and ambitious goals have been set up with can potentially redefine the scope of education in the province.

With Center of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain, the Sindh government is also planning to set up Thar Institute of Technology. It will be called as the NED Campus of Tharparkar, and the Sindh University Campus in Badin and Mirpurkhas.

The ambitious ‘Sindh Education City’:

Spread in a total area of 8900 acres, the Sindh government is planning to develop the Sindh Education City. About twenty local and foreign institutions have been granted lands to build academic campuses in the education city to actualize this impressive project.

The provincial government has already finalized the master plan for education city. It is expected to start the first phase of infrastructure in 2020. The Sindh Education city project is said to be complete in five years and will cost Rs. 13.9 billion.

Focusing on higher education:

The provincial government in its budget for 2019-20 has kept higher education as a priority. The provincial government has exclusively increased the budget amount for universities and boards’ department.

The provincial government has made some praise-worthy developments in College Education Department in Sindh. It includes 17 new degree colleges in Karachi, Hyderabad, Umerkot, Sukkur, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and in Sanghar.

For the said development, the government has allocated a total of Rs. 18.094 billion in the budget for the next financial year 2019-20.
