Summer vacations and exam schedule announced for schools in Punjab and Sindh

The Punjab School Education Department has announced the schedule of summer vacations and a new academic session for both public and private schools across the province. It was announced in a notification issued on Monday.

As per the notification, the new academic year 2022-23 will commence from August 1 in Punjab’s public and private schools. The classes from 1 to 8th will have their exams in the month of May, stated the notification.

Students will have two months off as part of their summer break from June 1 to July 31st this year. Just like Punjab, Sindh also announced to commence the new academic year from the first of August.

According to the Sindh education department, the elementary classes (grade 4-8) will have their annual examinations from May 2. May 17th has been chosen as the date for the matriculation exams. The results will be announced two months later on July 17th.

Furthermore, June 15 has been set as the date for intermediate examinations in the province. The admissions will be open from July 1 to 31st in the Higher Secondary Schools (HSC).

As per the announcement of Sindh education steering committee, the examination papers will comprise of 40% MCQs and 60% of detailed questions.
