The rise in prices is not trivial.

A Pakistani Automobile Company, ‘Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited,’ has increased its bikes’ prices for the fourth time in 2020. The last price hike was in September, just one month ago.

The last time, the motor company cited the depreciating currency and the coronavirus pandemic as the main reasons to increase its prices so that it can meet operational costs.

It is pertinent to mention here that the rise in prices is not trivial.

To begin with, the Suzuki Gixxer 150 sports bike previously received a massive price hike of PKR 20,000, taking its total up to PKR 599,000.

In the September price hike, the company’s top sellers, the GS-150 SE and GR-150 increased by PKR 5,000, bringing their total up to PKR 190,000 and PKR 284,000, respectively. Besides, the GD-110 S price also went up by PKR 3,000, taking its price up to PKR 178,000.

With the PMSC bumping up its bikes’ prices by such extensive margins, it would be challenging for the company to compete with its rivals, Honda and Yamaha.
