Launch, Features, Pricing: Suzuki is all set to launch the 9th Generation Alto in December
The outgoing Suzuki Alto was launched in December 2014.
Pak Suzuki Motors has started manufacturing the Ninth Generation Alto and the Next Generation of Suzuki Vitara. The automaker has been planning to unveil both vehicles to the world by the end of 2020.
The outgoing Suzuki Alto was launched in December 2014. It is supplied with a 660cc R60A 3-cylinder engine that creates 39 horsepower and 53 torque meters. The car will have a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AGS semi-automatic transmission.
The New-Generation Alto will reportedly be provided with a newly formed R60D 660cc 3-cylinder engine that would achieve 48 horsepower of revolutions per minute and 69 meters of torque. The transmission options will remain the same; however, the vehicle will be based on a modern, lighter platform.
The automaker has also been working on a sportier version, which will be revealed in October 2021. As per numerous speculations, the sportier version shall be equipped with a turbocharged R60D engine. The same block will be somewhat revised by the company to have a bigger bore and a longer stroke, providing the car a reliable performance with more horsepower and torque.
Reports suggest that the Indian Suzuki contingent, Maruti is also working on the New Generation Alto, and will be unveiling the car around the same time as the worldwide launch. No word has been received from Pak Suzuki Motor Company regarding the launch.
