Separated couple Syra Yousuf and Shahroz Sabzwari to star together in a movie about ‘getting back your ex’
Regardless of what the end result may be, Pakistanis are excited to see the previously admired couple brace cinema screens together once again.
Many of us don’t remember, but before the pandemic and the separation, Syra Yousuf and Shahroz Sabzwari were to star in a film together. Nothing came to the fore once tragedy struck; however, recent reports state that something might be cooking now.
According to sources, the postponed film is now in its final post-production stage. The movie will be coming out as soon as cinemas in Pakistan re-open.
Shahroz Sabzwari hinted at the big news in a recent conversation. After being critiqued by Yasir Hussain, Shahroz defended his decision to pursue films.
When asked if he made the right choice with the films he worked on, Shahroz asserted:
Me? I’ve never made a wrong choice in my life. Before taking on anything, I say Bismillah, and I give it my best.
The actor then revealed that he has recently wrapped up three films, one being with his ex-wife. Shahroz said:
Only a song from that film is left, which we’ll shoot on the 25th, 26th, and 28th of this month. Another action-packed adventure of mine is completed, while another film, titled Agar Magar, will also be finalized soon.
Recalling how the films would’ve released earlier had it not been for the pandemic, he said:
I think we will try releasing them sooner now, though.
While Shahroz Sabzwari announced some details, he did not unveil the title of his first cinematic outing with his ex-wife Syra Yousuf.
Regardless of what the end result may be, Pakistanis are excited to see the previously admired couple brace cinema screens together once again. Maybe this might be the last time we see the two celebrities together on-screen.
It should be noted that on Valentine’s Day of 2018, Syra and Shahroz had shared a compelling BTS post on Instagram from their untitled project. While Shahroz wrote “Sai” as his caption, Syra completed the couple’s name with “Roz”, to announce the upcoming picture.
According to 2018 reports, the actors had signed the project nearly half a decade ago. While talking to a media outlet, Syra had previously expressed:
I read the script five years ago, and I thought it was a very interesting take on a love story. When I read it now, a lot has changed in it, and for the better. When I was reading it, I really got into it. The way it spoke to me was really appealing.
Revealing what truly made her pursue the movie, Syra said:
The entire thing put together, with Shahroz in it with me, I thought it would be a good project for us to do together. I’d waited for a good script to come along for him and me – and I just knew deep down that this was it.
The actress further shared:
Also, I heard a song from the film, and I knew I just had to do it.
It is pertinent to mention that the soundtrack that appealed to Syra is composed by Adrian David, who worked with A R Rahman and Salim Suleman, and is vocalized by Maria Unera, Sherry Khattak, and Kashan Admani of former pop-rock band Mizmaar.
