Tarek Fatah embarrasses himself again, ends up mistaking Mehwish Hayat for a real polio worker

He does not learn his lesson.

Author Tarek Fatah took another jab at Pakistan, landing him in internet humiliation once again. The Pakistan-born author and journalist, who is currently residing in Canada, is known for his blind and directionless criticism towards his native country.

Not too long ago, he tried to troll the Pakistani cricket team, but instead became a center of trolls himself. Taking to Twitter, Fatah mistook cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq for a mullah. He said captain Sarfaraz Ahmed brought “their 13th Man, a Mullah to bless the pitch for tomorrow’s match against India”.

But he does not learn his lesson. He, again, tweets with his disproportionate and unverified piece of news. He shared a clip of a woman screaming at an alleged polio worker. However, he was completely unaware that it was a scene from a movie.

Pakistani mother slams the door shut in the face of Polio workers. Screams at the two female volunteers: “I will never ever allow my children to take these drops. Never never will my kids drink these drops. Never,” Fatah captioned the clip.

The scene was from a Pakistani movie Load Wedding. The movie’s lead, Mehwish Hayat, responded to it saying she is happy that he found the performance so convincing that he took it as real.

”Thank you for giving your 2 cents on this but please first verify the source before posting next time,” Hayat wrote.

”It’s a scene from my movie ”Load Wedding”, the polio worker is me & that woman an actress. Through the film, we were raising awareness of the issue. Glad to see our performances were so convincing.”

This is the internet people reacted:
