Tax Asan: FBR launches e-payment system to facilitate the taxpayers

  • The Federal Board of Revenue has launched a viable alternative for tax payments by which one can pay the taxes through the bank account, internet banking, mobile banking or ATM machines.
  •  Taxpayers will also receive the computerized payment slip as confirmation through email or SMS service. This computerized slip will also be updated in the FBR database automatically.

Taxpayers are no longer required to wait for their turn to pay the taxes. The Federal Board of Revenue has launched a viable alternative for tax payments. The online tax payment facility by FBR will enable the taxpayers to pay their due taxes via alternate delivery channels.

One can pay the taxes through the bank account, internet banking, mobile banking or via ATM machines. All you have to do is to go to the FBR portal: e.fbr.gov.pk and note down your PSID number.

Then log in to your bank account via computer or cell phone or go to an ATM. Next is to enter your PSID number in the payment section and pay the tax amount. You’ll receive the computerized payment slip through email or SMS service. This computerized slip will also be updated in the FBR database automatically.

What is Tax Asan?

TaxAsan is a mobile application that facilitates generating PSIDs for income tax and sales tax payments apart from facilitating online tax payments directly through the designated bank accounts with or without logging in into TaxAsan application.

How to generate payment slips for Income Tax and Sales Tax using Tax Asan?

    • Tap on the “Payment” tab from the left panel menu.
    • The application will then load an “e-payment” sub-tab.
    • Tap on the e-payment tab and the app will redirect the user on the e-payments page.
    • Select the “Type of Payment” and application will load form fields in accordance with the selected payment category. Notify that in order to create the sales tax the user must have Sales Tax Registration Number as the application won’t allow creating the sales tax payment by using Income Tax Registration Number.
    • As soon as the user provides the registration number the application will load name, office, and business name based on already stored data on the FBR records. The tax year is mandatory to mention for both Income Tax and Sales Tax however tax month is required only for the sales tax category.
    • Enter the required information including your mobile number, email address, tax amount in the e-payment details and after that select the payment mode. The available payment modes are cash, cheque payments, pay order, and ADC.
    • Select only one payment mode at a time for e-payment.
    • Make sure to mark the agreement confirmation checkbox as enabled to submit the payment form.
    • To change any information before the final submission click the “Back” button provided in the bottom left corner of the application.
    • Click the “Submit” button and the application will create a payment slip ID followed by SMS and Email alert and will redirect the user to share the PSID page.
    • Lastly, click on the share icon to share PSID using available options like Whatsapp, Facebook, Email, or SMS, etc.
