‘TechKaro’ is teaching women coding AT HOME to encourage female representation in tech sphere

‘TechKaro’ is an initiative that focuses on empowering women and bridging the gender gap in the digital sector.

The female representation in Pakistan’s technology sector is quite low. According to reports, the percentage of women in the sector is only 14%. To encourage more women to make an impression in the advanced sector, ‘TechKaro’ has come up with an innovative and convenient solution.

The founder of ‘TechKaro’ and CEO of CIRCLE2020 Sadaffe Abid said that the platform is providing courses of digital marketing, design, and coding, to women at their homes.

“‘TechKaro’ is an initiative that focuses on empowering women and bridging the gender gap in the digital sector. We teach both male and female students”, CEO Sadaffe said.

In one of her tweets, she talked about the 1st TechKaro coding virtual meet-up, where students submitted the projects they had completed in HTML CSS so far.

During the event, a student expressed her feelings on the initiative and how excited she was to learn about coding.

‘’I want to become an entrepreneur and this is a step in the right direction’’, the girl said.

A TechKaro Coding 2019 student Armia talked about her journey with the program and how it affected her. She said that she was afraid in the beginning and had no idea regarding coding, but after learning with TechKaro, she has gained a lot of confidence.

‘Circle’ also led by Sadaffe Abid, is an initiative to advance the economic participation of women and empower them through entrepreneurship, advocacy campaigns, and research.
